i would like to see the fusion pro come back with a reverse headstock. the fusion pro had all the bells and whistles ebony fretboard etc.

To me, the biggest hole in the Jackson import line is no Pro-series KV. There's nothing between the KVX10 ($500) and the USA KV2 ($2000+). I like that KVMGT idea.

+1, but screw the EMGs and go with duncans, and neck thru

its not gonna happen. it will lower the kv2 sales. neck thru, ebony, binding and duncans are a little too much for a pro series.

Pro Fusion with 1 or 2 hums, preferably 1 with a thicker neck profile than the older ones.

I was thinking something comparable to the RR5 - neckthru, rosewood, MOTO, Duncans, and around $1000-$1200. Maybe the KV5? But hopefully with binding. Binding can't be that much, hell, lower-end (under $500) Ibanezes and LTDs have it.

Come to think of it, $500-600 Jacksons have binding too! That's ridiculous that a $1200 (new) RR5 doesn't have it.

+1! Binding should be an all the Pro series IMO.

Personally, I think versions of the SLSMG in all body shapes for about the same cash. Different enough to not eat into the US sales too much, but better than the current pro series.

jackson's binding "policy" is the worst thing ever. i know so many guys who owns ke3's chasing dk2 necks to swap it. i mean come on, i can pay 50 bucks more it wont bother me. even indonesian ibanez guitars have them.

Here are the most important points and also what made me get a DK2M:

                        1. Maple board (Ebony would be good too)
                        2. Real Duncans (no junk)
                        3. Binding
                        4. Same woodtypes as USAs

Seeing an import with rosewood-board and cheap pickups does not create a "have to buy" feeling IMO

That's what I've been preaching for years. Ever since the KV3 and KV4 were discontinued there is a big hole, and since the KVX10 was changed to a floyd bridge there is NO STRING-THRU King V available at all below $2000, and that one has a smurf hat headstock...

This KVMGT idea is exactly what I would buy in a heartbeat if available.

Actually I'm still passively looking around for an old pre 2006 KVX10 (complete or just the body)... if I find one for cheap, I'm gonna change necks with my DKMGT and therefore just build it myself.

These two things were what I cared about most when trying to decide on KVMGT's specifications. I mean if you have a neck-thru Japanese Jackson either you don't have sharkies with a non-classic jackson headstock (mm1, slsmg) or you don't have the binding and the fretboard is rosewood (rr5,sl3) The only exception is the KBRR which is a neck-thru and has an ebony board but doesn't have the sharkies which kill it for me..

Imo being a bolt-on with moto sharkies is what makes the KVMGT possible to come alive. Me personally would prefer a neck-thru too but I can live with a bolt-on if you give me sharks with ebony + binding

BTW I'd like to have a DK2R as much as I'd like to have a KVMGT. Especially with a matching headstock I think it would be killer!..
