Hi Ron! I am glad that you like the J1. If you have played a J2 before, you can tell the difference!

Hey Alex! Well, in the past I've had a SL2H and a Rhoads PRO. Plus I currently have lots of mid & high range MIJ Jacksons in addition to a San Dimas Rhoads. This RR really compares very favorably with USA Select series IMO. The hardware seems high quality, the MOP is nice, as is the binding. The ebony on the fretboard is very dark & rich. Of course, it plays very nice, although through my 5150 it really doesn't sound too much different than my alder bodies KVX10 (w/ Duncan Distortion). I was expecting a more noticeable tone difference, maybe I need to play with the amp. I'm also not able to detect much tonal dif with the coil tap."Quiet, numbskulls, I'm broadcasting!" -Moe Howard, "Micro-Phonies" (1945)

Welcome to the Stars club. You'll have to guard that against theft from the Finish crew. They can't resist a 24 Fret Rhoads.
Do you find the MoP has more pink and less steel-blue colouring to it than USA Jacksons? The Mitch found that to be the case, as did I.

I noticed MIJ MOP has more of that color-thing going on while USA sharkies are showing that kinda 3D-ish effect.
edit: Oh, cool RR RacerX! I love the whole J1 series stuff...Last edited by The Mitch; 11-09-2007, 04:48 AM.

Hey sweet, congrats!
Welcome to the J1 club, you got a very fine axe there.
I'm surprised about the little tone difference you mentioned to your KVX10.
Granted, my J1B is mahogany with a Custom in the bridge, but it sounds quite different to my KVX10 with Duncan Distortion... the J1B has a very full, balanced and smooth sound, while the KVX10 packs an aggressive mid-heavy punch.
