^ haha..that made me feel better.. it plays pretty well but i thought if it has an issue, once resolved it'd play better
@emperor : yea, jacksons have been in India(i'm in bombay) for a while now.. i paid bout $700 for it at a retail outlet here. (thats prolly expensive cause of the import duties etc)

also, is there a sticky for setting up dinkys as such? i mean pickup height, pole piece adjustment (i know its a personal thing..but a starting point would be nice)
    cheers

Welcome! Chances are it's okay. That was just one bad batch. For setting up, I would just look for some online articles though the best way is to just tinker with the guitar until it feels right to you. If you want, it would probably benefit you to look through the Tech Q&A section of the board. It has lots of threads on various guitar tech related things and there's a sticky with general info on many different things.

I've never measured a single thing when setting my Jacksons up. I just adjust the bridge and neck until it is satisfactory. No one else knows your preferences so no guide will help you completely. I can tell you one thing that I do for pickups. I never have them level, I always have them slanted so the bass side is higher than the treble side. The stock JB in DK2Ms (As well as my DK2) is a bright pickup so distancing the treble side may help get rid of that brightness and balance the sound more. I'm sure everyone else will say that's crazy but that's what I do and it works for me.
