As QuantumRider stated in another thread, the new dealer for JacksonStars is "Yamano Trading"... since they also sell Fender Japan and Fender USA guitars in Japan, they probably have a good enough relationship to FMIC to know the proper value of JacksonStars models.

Well there's a couple people who apparently work for Jackson who reads this site, so I some how doubt it's a big secret that people are buying Jackson Stars because they can't get their act together in the US CS. I'm not entirely surprised that the prices went up, but I wish it could have waited until after my next two customs were ordered. Will have to wait and see though.
btw, am I missing something, I don't see Semi-custom options and customer options on here..? I would guess we can still get whatever option we want with it, just more money. I haven't checked the price versus what the prices were yet. But if it's not too insane I'll stick with Jackson Stars. Because honestly, (And I mean no offense to the sales persons on JCF, I'm talking GC types) I think I got better service from Japan, and a product that was spot on perfect with Jackson Stars and honestly from all the horror stories I have seen from others on here, I'd rather spend the extra amount for a Jackson Star then to put up with the BS people are having to deal with. but then, if it's a big price hike then it's really difficult to justify buying any jackson. In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

Increasing prices on the Jackson Stars will only make more and more people to go with companies like Ran Guitars, Rico Jr. etc
I will never pay 5 times to get a production Jackson just with the difference of the 7th string

Thanks alot to both of you!
As QuantumRider already mentioned they have changed the nut width to 43mm on all models for 2008.
Now there seem to be alot more changes...
I don't see any Archtop Soloists, the J1 Rhoads models have been changed to mahogany and are not longer available in transparent finishes, the Seymour Duncan Custom has been replaced by the JB on all models.
List prices also seem to have risen considerably.
What do you guys think of these changes?
Atsushi, is this a complete catalog? Are all of the old models discontinued by now?
At least they're making a through neck king v...

Didn't see any Kahler option either. Not that I'm complaining
Looks like I'll have to sell a bunch of stuff to pay off the CC so I can max it out on NOS NASLs before they're all goneI want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

Apart from the price increases, my main concern is how they'll change the semi-custom system. I hope they don't kill it or give it USA CS prices. I had a very reasonable quote for a 7-string Soloist, which I just missed out on ordering. I wonder will they even take an order for a 7 string SL when the system comes back online? And, if they do, will they give it semi-custom prices as they did with my Kelly.
I know that they're now listing the "J1" series as being mahogany, but if you want alder, based on the old semi-custom system, it would probably be a no-cost option. Similarly with the pickup changes: I ask for a pickup change from an SH-5 to an SH-6 and it was a no-cost option.
Hopefully it doesn't all go south from here, but those of you who got your orders in before the crash, well done.

Well, to me it was pretty clear from the beginning that the whole JacksonStars thing couldn't be kept a secret... after all, it was plastered all over the import forum.
The question was how JCMI (and now the new JacksonStars dealer) would deal with this situation. We'll see it in the next months.
I second the sentiments of those who weren't able to order their customs in time, as I had a full custom in mind too, but had to wait for financial reasons.
My gut feeling about the new system isn't that good honestly... the list price increases and less options in the production models could be taken as an indication of the mindset of the new dealer. One thing is pretty sure to me, the days of unbelievable bargains for customs are over, even if we can still get exactly what we want.
I'm going on a used and NOS hunt now!

Hey guys, please don't shoot the messenger...
just got another mail from my sales agent at Ishibashi in reply to my enquiry about the current situation.
He replied that he was afraid to tell me that so far he hasn't heard anything about the distributor accepting semicustom orders from next year on.
Well, take it for what it is... it doesn't have to mean it won't come back at all, just means this sales agent so far doesn't know about it.
I am more inclined to believe QuantumRider, who got his info about the semicustom order system coming back from the Yamano representative himself at the International Musical Instruments Fair in Yokohama last month.

Well, like you said, it was bound to happen - they knew we were going crazy over these since you could get basically a Custom Shop axe for about 1/3rd the USA price, and someone had to pull the plug on it.
It was fun while it lasted, just wish I coulda got that quilted NASL with maple board and Chlorine finish I wanted

I don't like the new models either. That's really sad that the top end serie is no more available in any other color than black And why mahogany body?
I'm so glad I ordered my Jackson Stars custom RR just before they close the CS! It should be here in less than one month, I just can't wait!!!
Now I only regret I didn't ordered another one in the same time. Not only the price of my next custom will be much higher, but I'm also worried about the delay of the "new" JS custom shop. Let's hope it will remain the same as before, 4 months was incredibly fast!
I understand the JS CS was cutting through the sales of the US one, but I don't think just rising the prices will change anything. Even with equal prices, if the quality of the JS CS remains the same, I'd still go for that instead of the US CS. I just don't want to wait two years to recieve a guitar different from what I've ordered ...2007 Jackson Stars RR Custom
2005 Jackson Stars RR Semi-custom
1991 Grover Jackson RR Dan Spitz Professional
1991 Grover Jackson RR Custom (sold)

Wow, FMIC has pulled out another brain fart again. That corporation just doesn`t have a clue what we want for the most part To me, FMIC is a big joke now. I am getting to the point where I don`t even care what happens to Jackson/Charvel guitars. I hate to say that, but I am just so disgusted at FMIC policies it just doesn`t matter anymore.

Please keep in mind guys, that so far we don't know who really is to blame for the current situation (the dealer change, price increases and custom order situation).
So let us not turn this thread into an FMIC bashfest based on speculation, please.
