  • Caution : Jackson Stars RR custom shop inside!!!

So after months of waiting, I finally got this morning my first (but not last ) Rhoads, a Jackson Stars custom shop

    Here are the specs :

    Body : RR (rearloaded) Alder
    Top : flame maple board
    Neck : maple neck-thru
    Nb of frets : 24
    Fingerboard : ebony
    Inlays : MOP Sharkfins
    Binding : white
    Fret scalloped : 20 to 24
    Nut : 11/16 locking
    Bridge : original Floyd Rose
Pickup : Duncan SH-5 (going to be remplaced by J-80C and JGP-1000)
    Controls : 1 volume
    Hardware : black
    Finish : TRS (transparent red)
Other details : matching headstock, MOP logo

I only sent this form to Ishibashi. I didn't even attached any picture, and the guitar came exactly like I wanted! Even more beautiful than everything I could imagine!

I made the payment in the beginning of August, and Hiroaki told me that it would take 4 to 5 months to build the guitar. Exactly 4 months later, it was ready, and it took only 2 days to arrive from Japan to Finland (and 4 days to get out of the customs office )
I even asked for a small upgrade (MOP logo) 6 weeks after placing the order, while the building had already started, and it's been possible.

The first thing which surprised me when I took the guitar in my hands is it's weight : it's incredibly light!!! My LTD MH-400 (mahogany body) weights tones compaired to it! The neck is also really thin and I love the painted finish feeling (I never liked oiled necks). The hand slides so smoothly on it. But I'll talk more about the playability once I have adjusted it and played it a little bit ...
So now let's see some pics!
I have to apologise in advance for the crappy camera I used, hopefully Santa Clause is bringing me a new one for Christmas so you'll have much better pics and maybe some videos later ...

Of course, those pictures are nowhere near reality. Here's one of a RR-J1T which gives a better idea of what the TRS finish looks like.

And now if you don't mind, I'll leave you for a moment and have some fun with my new baby

Btw, I'm aware she might feel a bit lonely with my MH-400, so I though I might order her two sisters during the next years ...

Haha yeah, it came with the floyd completely down and the strings weren't tensed at all. I guess it's better for the transport ...

Congratulations. Wow. That's an excellent RR.

Be sure to give the TB5 a chance, before you remove it. It's a great pickup.

Yeah actually I've tried it after setting up the guitar, and it's pretty good! I'd like more balls and mediums but it might be great with my JE-1000

How much does something like this cost when made custom?
