PS 4 route of control cavity?

  • PS 4 route of control cavity?

    If a PS4 is missing the neckplate with the serial number, can you tell if it is MIJ from the shape of the route of the control cavity, or is the SN somewhere else too?

    I think that the MIJ ones had the dots closer at the 12th fret. At least mine did and it was an early MIJ version.

    That was a great budget guitar that sounded great after I swapped out the trem with a Schaller and dropped a Full Shred in the bridge position.

      The PS4 has always had offset dots on the fret board.
      You must be thinking of the PS2. In which case, yes, closer dots on the 12th meant MIJ.
      As for the PS4, the control routes varied.
      The early MIJ ones had the Ontario route and later they got an SD style rout.
      The MIK had some funky route on them.
