  • Finally snagged a Jackson Professional Soloist!

Wow, have I been searching for one of these guitars for quite a bit. I finally found one that I won off ebay for about $650. I think it's a pretty fair price, it's in great condition. What a story with it though, I was originally going to buy it for like $900, then I lost computer access and I saw it was off ebay, so I thought it sold...Then I bought a Carvin DC200TI to...Fill the void, so to say.. I go on ebay tonight and I find the same Jackson Professional I was about to buy, but for a couple hundred bucks cheaper. Damn...Looks like I'll be selling a Carvin DC200TI or a Jackson Professional. Probably the Carvin =P.

But as we all know, this thread is worthless without pics, so here we go:

Yeah man, my friend who sold me my snakeskin soloist (who became my guitar teacher for a while) had one of these, and I loved it. So I've been battling trying to get one for a while because I loved his so much.

The color is actually this really dark green, with this trippy sparkle on it.. Eh, shit, 24,000 posts you probably know that.

        I saw that there...Decent Price.

I remember that I could have had one like that new in 1996 for that Price at a music store in Toronto Canada.

These guitars were very under priced at that time.

That is the same as mine, except mine is in the really dark purple

I bought mine new in '94 for $1800.00, and it is still in top condition.

The only thing I am thinking of doing is maybe trying some different pickups in there and removing the mid-boost. I don't dislike the sound, and it is versatile, but I fancy a change.

I keep kicking myself,,I could have had one in 1996 at Steve's music for around $650,,,I saw it hanging there...I played it, and the guy at the store even made me a deal $650 including tax... I was 16 or 17, and didn't want to borrow money from my grandparents..

            I should have done it..lol

Congrats on your score. Mine is in the same finish, '94 and kicks ASS.

edit: Dunno about dark green though, yours looks black to me. But they ARE a bitch to photograph.

Congrats! My '90 Soloist Pro (bright yellow) is my main player, and far and away the best-sounding Soloist I've ever owned--and I've had quite a few.

No offense, but I would have kicked my ass if I let that go. :p

These guitars are just amazing in every aspect, you ask someone if they've ever played one and they say no. You let them play one, and then they go crazy trying to find one :p.

I'm really not sure how it lasted so long on eBay..He originally wanted quite a bit of money, but even when he lowered it to $650 it idled there for quite some time.

: You should post some pics of your yellow one..I've only seen the green one I bought in person..I've seen pics of white ones on the net but not yellow.

Congratulations, that sure is one awesome guitar...
I would love one myself!! Maybe one day.... You don't get too many 'PROS' up for sale in the UK, especially 'Soloists'.
I own a 'Fusion PRO' and love it to bitz... Defiantly would never want to part with it.

What would this be classed as? An SL3? SL2? Or is it something else entirely?
                          I have an SL3 and it's a stunning guitar.

There isn't any equivalent in the current Jackson lineup. It would fall between an SL2 and SL3. It's made in Japan but to the exact specifications of the USA Soloist of that time.
