Up until this Namm.. ALL Prestige S series is/has been made in Korea.. the difference this year is that the Egen (Herman Li model) and the new 24 fret S series will be made in Japan. The ZR trem is made/maufactured/designed by Tama (another part of Hoshino, parent company of Ibanez).

            • I want the white one. I can not wait for these things to hit stores.
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

I agree. The non-limited RR24 with yellow bevels and black binding is still a nice guitar and the sharkfins are the RIGHT way up. You can't have everything though. The RR5 is similar in price and that doesn't have neck/headstock binding. You're still only paying £100 more than you would for an SL3. The reason you get black binding is to entice you to go for a (much more expensive-) USA Select or Custom Shop.

I have to disagree on this one. I change my batteries quite often being as I play my battery equipped guitars a LOT. There's nothing more irritating than having to place a guitar upside down, then risk fret wear because I'm applying pressure as I use a screwdriver to get the panel off, say, a DX10DFS. If holding a guitar sideways, there's the risk of slipping and gouging the paint or losing screws. Just sayin'.

                              • So since they use the RR24 blanks (we assume) for these, couldn't they use the bond blanks with white binding for the KV5 and the RR5FR? I know the inlays are different, but are those on the blanks or added after cutting the body?
