  • Differences between RR3 & RX10D

Hi, I just purchased the Polka Dot Rhoads from AMS, and I was wondering what the differences are between the RR3 and the RX10D. Since both are made in Japan, and feature bolt on necks, I can't imagine that the difference is too great.

BTW, the Polka Dot Rhoads plays amazing, and the Duncan Designed pickups are pretty damn good. I love this guitar!

Just to state the main ones:
RR3: Alder, front loaded, real Duncans, 2 vol 1 tone
RX10D: Basswood, rear loaded, Duncan designed, 1 vol
    EAOS: 28JUN09

      To add to the above:
RR3 has black hardware, RX10D has chrome.
Certain finishes available on the RR3 are not available on the RX10D and vice versa. RR3: EDS, TBLK. RX10D: ASB.
      Fuck ebay, fuck paypal

        Too add even more:
RR3: Upgraded trem with baseplate in hardened steel. Jack in the upper wing.
RX10D: Non-upgraded trem. Jack in lower wing.

To add even even more: my older RR3 has chrome hardware and came with Duncan Designed pups. So it depends what year we're talking about.

You are absolutely right. Also, the chrome hardware RR3s had the non-hardened trem. The Pro series was upgraded with black hardware and improved trem in the summer of 2006.
