    The reason I say the maple board doesn't seem popular is because i've gotten some comments from friends about how they dont' look "metal" enough.... I love it, but I know it's not for everyone.

        The maple should give it a brighter tone than rosewood.
        A great choice for high metal shredding!
        Personally, I stick with rosewood or ebony because maple is a bit shrill for my taste.

                Yeah, I had a guy say my maple Charvel Model 1A looked like a "blues" guitar...more of a neoclassical I'd say with the dots

                  I'd go with neoclassical for that. I'd really like to get a reverse headstock Jackson one of these days (again I should say, have had a DR7).
