I've tried an RR24 and now I want one. To get one quicker, I'd be looking at selling off my WRMG and DK2S, but I am concerned. All the patches on my GT-8 were constructed using the WRMG. When constructing patches using a BC Rich NJ Speedloader, which also had an ebony board (bolt-on neck), everything sounded bassless and harsh. I own a WR1 too, thru which sounds a little bassless or tighter than the WRMG. What I don't wanna do is lose the ability to make all-rounding sounds sound weak.
Being as the WR1 is a neckthru (my first neckthru for that matter), and having liked the RR24 when I demo'd it, feelwise, it's a winner, only that it was the wrong body finish for me. When demo'ing a guitar, I rarely get an idea of how it's gonna sound thru my own rig, because it's very different from everyone else's. For a start, I don't use a guitar amp, I use a digital desk and active monitors. My patches are nothing like the factory presets of the Boss GT-8. Every shop within 30 miles tends to only have Line6 stuff available to demo.
This sounds like a stupid question (maybe I can't get the right words out), but should I always keep these so-called redundant guitars, or just sell them and hope I don't regret it?
I've dealt with Sound Control on this part-ex'ing before (which is how I ended up with the DK2S in the first place). I previously got £220 back for my KE3 last year. Failing that, there's always fleabay (and I refuse to sell a well-looked after guitar for fuck all, then pay fees on top).
Advice please.
