  • New guitar day!! (Yeah, another new guitar for me!!!)

Not even two days since I got a new Jackson Stars RR Custom and this just came in:

    WTF? Is it a Gibson??

Gigbag looks like a RR one....

Grover Jackson RR Custom in metallic black

Here's a catalog scan with full specs:

Mine came with replaced hardware....Takeuchi trem and Gotoh tuners. I already have a gold OFR ready to put in there...I'm just waiting for the tuners and pickups to come and I'll set it up then!

Full review and lots more pics coming over the weekend!! (I hope)

    Cool!
I've never seen a Grover in person... But I heard quality wise they are on par with the Pro series. True?

    What year is that RR?

I just couldn't resist and quickly put a Jackson J90c I had lying around in it! Sounds very good! Just like my other Grover Jackson!

This is my second Grover Jackson and both of them are 1991. They both beat the hell ouf of my RR PRO! (made in the same factory from the same woods etc.)

Quality is not far from my Jackson Stars RR CS!!

Pretty much. Dave Mustaine used to have a Grover Jackson Firebird, and I think Marty had a Rhoads.

Glad to see that the guitar got to you OK.

Did you notice that the plastic was still on the pickguard, almost 20 years after the guitar was made?

Right, Mustaine had also a Grover KV, as you can see in the Cryptic Writings booklet...
I think I heard (not sure about that) that Dave's Grover KV was made in the USA CS, which means other quality compared to Japan made Grovers.

Yeah! Guitar is in dead mint condition!! It has really yellowed bindings, some corrosion on frets (absolutely no playwear though!!) and I have yet to see ebony fretboard that needs more oil than this one. It will need quite a bit of maintenance and I'm looking forwarding to setting it up. Just need to find some time for it! I will post all the pics here!

I have no idea. It is made from leather and is very sturdy!
