In a RUSH for Serial # info - please HELP!

Hey dudes. I'm very close to buying a used WRMG (HZ pickups). I'm trying to figure out if it's a 2002 (basswood) or 2003 (alder) model. The Serial # is 9600618, can anyone tell me what year it's from?

Someone will chime in if I'm wrong.. What I gathered from being part of this forum is that you can't really tell shit from the serial number. If you want to know the date remove the neck and check the neck pocket for the date of the body and the date of the neck will be stamped on the neck.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that import serial numbers dont have anything that indicates a date on them. But like Jet said if we're wrong one of our resident experts will surely be along to help.

That's what I was afraid of. I really doubt the seller will be willing to remove the neck to check the date.
