  • ...Stealth Pro ??

Is this guitar really a Stealth Pro ?

...the colour seems right, though i can't tell if the board is Ebony. I don't think the bridge is correct either, i'm no expert though.

Thanks, any help would be much appreciated !

Newc: It was me who bought it ! lol

    It is a Stealth.
The board is Rosewood. The JT-580 trem is correct, looks like someone swapped out the saddles though.

I don't think that the EX model had trans finishes, and the later versions had the output jack on the edge like most Jacksons, so if this isn't a Stealth Pro then it's probably an XL.

...looks like it might be some type of XL then. In one catalog it says the XL came with a low profile trem and another catalogs says it doesn't ?? The bridge pup doesn't have a Jackson logo either.

...i know, i am just after some clarification on what model it is. I knew it weren't a Pro when i saw the bridge.

XL or EX then i presume ? (don't think there is any other type)

BTW: Thanks for the help so far :-)

sorry, my bad. I read "bridge pup" as "bridge".

I had a 92 Stealth Pro that said Professional on the headstock if I remember. (Been too long)

I thought the SL and EX models had that stamped on the head no?

Yeah all the MIJ Jacksons had the Professional logo on the headstock (up until the late 90's i think), anyone have anymore ideas on which Stealth it could be ?

INteresting. I have a 92 stealth Pro in that color. But it has the ebony board and pearl logo and dots. With stock reflex pups. And the Schaller JT590. It must be either and EX or a hybrid. I dont believe the EX had trans finishes. UNless its an old Pro body with swapped out parts. But then the trem rout would be differant. Must be an early run of the EX. And there was the HX also which had the three humbuckers and the jack on the edge of the body vs the top. But that became the JRX94 in 94 IIRC. Same guitar just differant name.

Do you reckon it's worth trading an Ibanez S470 for ? The trade hasn't gone through yet so i could pull out.

...sorry for all the questions, i have a very limited knowledge on Jackson guitars. I am more of an Ibanez guy ;-)

Gil could be correct with the idea of swapped out parts. It doesn't exactly match the EX specs:

Also, the seller says all original, but no guitar was shipped with black floyd baseplate and chrome saddles. Also, I lightened up his neckplate pic, it only has Jackson and serial number, nothing else...isn't that a trait of a Japan-market only guitar?

Was it an guitar-for-guitar trade? The neck for sure is not a "stealth pro" ebony neck. As Gil said, the body might be, but the sum of the parts doesn't add up to anything special. His opening bid of 199GBP is equal to US$391. In the past, I've seen Stealth EXs here in the US on ebay all original with no issues for that money. Also, in looking at the trem saddles, the intonation looks like its out of whack, so might not play well.

If your intent is to trade your Ibanez to get "your first Jackson", I would not do this trade, but wait until you find one that is truely original.

Here's a Stealth Pro I used to have (pickups swapped to EMGs):

                              Here's one I still have:
