  • King V Porn

I have owned my "#1" King V Pro for so many years, it's family LOL. Then I saw one come across eBay about a week ago and the dude agreed to put a BIN on it for me, so I snagged it. The prices seem to be going up so I think I did okay with it. Believe it or not I got my old one for $650 back in the day LOL. You couldn't find one now for that price! It's been a solid guitar. The best guitar I've ever owned, so I thought to myself, why not own two?

The "new" one is on the right. It's in excellent condition. The frets look really good, and the bridge doesn't even have the typical Kahler corrosion going on. I strung her up last night when I got her home and it sounds great! But it seems quite a bit heavier than my original KV Pro. Anyone have any idea why they would differ in weight like that? It's pretty noticeable.

Ok well enough chatting. Here they are! I included some pics of my growing "family" too. Figured it wouldn't be true V porn without it haha

    And here's the family....

Oh it's heavy eh...that's too bad,,,I'll take it off of your hands for you?

My KV Pros is really heavy,,it's like a Les Paul. I love it!

Alto to take into consideration,,is that the one that was re finished? That might be why it's heavier.

Sweet guitars man... I wish I had two.. One to keep mint, and another to play...

I also have to add that I agree about how stellar this guitar is. It plays and feel so well. It just feels like a quality guitar.

Yep that's the refinished KV that was on the bay Perhaps you're right, that could explain it. I never even thought of that. The paint they used is solid I will tell you that. Great job, and looks every bit as good as the factory paint. Considering it's a refinish, though, I've been tempted to strip it down and do a different color with it. I won't feel bad considering its been done already haha. Mine #1 is staying "stock" though.

Totally agree these Vs are well worth the scratch. It's no wonder Jackson dropped them, as they are easily equal to any USA Jackson I've played.

It's a transparent blue flametop KVX10. The pickups sucked in it so I replaced them with a Duncan Distortion in the bridge and a Jazz in the neck. The neck profile is awesome I might add, but I don't like the fact its not bound, and the rosewood looks a bit "washed out" to me. I wonder if they are easy to die? I was planning on getting a DK2 neck or something for it to replace it. As you might be able to see I am replacing all the hardware in black (it comes in chrome only), and have put a Floyd on it, removing the Jackson trem (didn't like it). I paid $450 for it locally brand new.

There's one on eBay dude. Check her out. It's more than I paid for mine, but I think I got a good deal on the one I have. The guys here can chime in to see what their opinions on the price is but I think $450 was really good. It's a looker

Thanks for the reply. From the looks of it I thought it was an older USA model or something lol To me I love the colour of that " washed out " fingerboard.

So you paid $450 then new picksups and a OFR? I might as well buy an RR3 for $743 brand new and it also comes with a $100 gift certificate for anything thing in the store but I want 24 frets and the picguard looks weird on the rr3 This is gonna be a toughie

Do you think Jackson might update the X Series KVX10 into a Pro series that come with real Duncans and the JT580 trem stock? Just like they did to the Dinkies in 2006?

Yeah it was $450 for just the guitar and then I added the others. Granted I could buy the guitar you mentioned, but I really do enjoy "customizing" too. It ends up costing more but its fun anyway right? haha. Sad part is I want to put a bound neck on her too. Then what would be original? The body? haha Nobody said I was smart Maybe thats why I'm broke all the damn time :ROTF:

I'd love to see Jackson bring back the King V Pro, but I'd rather have it with a fixed Kahler like the old school ones OR a string thru model. Well, to be absolutely honest, I think I'd buy a Floyd version as well. I just want an affordable neckthru KV. As long as it's 24 fret and bound neck. I'd be all over it

There's a TN01 KV with a small smudge on it for sale at the usual place. It's basically a KV Pro with a OFR.

Hi guys, my name is Joe, I am a new member here, but I've been on here quite a bit in the last few years.

                              I currently have 3 Jackson King V's
1993 Professional Std White w/ Black Bullseye EMG'81
                              1996 KV2 (bolt on) Black w/ RR3 neck (sharkfins) EMG'81
1999 KV3 Snow White Pearl w/ Black RR pinstripes Bill Lawrence XL500 (the Bill and Becky version)

And also a Mutt that I built which is a tribute to Jake E. Lee
Seymour JB, Kahler, Charvel Model 3 neck etc...

This is another shot of the KV's with my '83 Kramer Focus 4000 roundhorn v with a Jackson KV Professional neck and a Black/Creme DiMarzio Breed. I converted this to left handed and re painted it myself.

Awesome site guys! I am proud to become a registered member!
Jackson/Charvel are my #1 and #2 for life!
