Has anyone picked up one of these yet? I'd like to know how it feels etc.

We could use a good RR24M thread.

I wouldn't expect it to feel much different than the standard RR24.

Hmm, I'd think a maple fretboard changes the feel a lot. That's what I think about my dinkies anyway

I find the maple baords to be much smoother than ebony and rosewood...

it also does tend to give sharper attack to the notes...

M though here's hoping they get wise and release versions with two hums...

My buddy would be all over that.
Then add a string-thru bridge and I'd be all over that, too!

It would also be great if it would make coffee in the morning...

Jackson need to produce other models besides the RR and Dinky with maple fingerboards... like a Warrior (subtle hint). There have been a couple KE3M's as limited runs. For now, all we can do is buy a DK2M and WRMG, and swap necks.

I would think that a maple board would feel a little slower than ebony. I assume that's why Ebony and rosewood are used more often.

I'll get one of these for sure,,,just not sure when I'll have the cashola...

oh ya,,and I know that I sound like a broken record,,but wish they had a TOM version,,, that would make it just perfect..

"Feel a little slower" that has nothing to do with wood imo, and everything to do with action and frets. Yngwie doesn't seem to slow down much at all.

With binding and jumbo frets you will almost never feel the fretboard.

I kinda agree with the "slower" comment, but not note per secondwise. I feels a bit more stickier. I always feel it's a bit harder to do slides and legatos on maple fretboards. And I always thought that thing is also the reason why maple boards have more note attack and clarity

Wouldn't that depend more on how (and if) the fretboard was finished? I have played both sticky and non-sticky maple boards. The sticky ones had thick glossy clearcoat over them. Additionally, I have never seen ebony or rosewood boards with clearcoat on them.

Yeah you're right Sunbane, I agree. It can change but all the ones I played felt a bit sticky anyway. I now have a dinky with maple board (Dk2le) no clearcoat and still feels a bit sticky just a bit. Ebony is like glass when compared to it but that's what I like about maple boards. Rosewood is just in between in terms of feel.

Anyway, I'd like to own an Rr24m in white
