  • new guitar decision

after i get some bills paid off this month, think im going to finance a new guitar through musicians friend,

I know i want another jackson, its between a KE3 or RR3, either would be trans. with a flame maple top, and would pull the JB for somethin with "MORE POWER"

    advantages, disadvantages, thoughts?

The pickups are identical in both models. The decision will be down to which body shape you prefer.
    Fuck ebay, fuck paypal

hmmm, really like the kelly, think i might forget about the trans. color, and just get black and put a duncan distortion in the bridge with a 1meg pot

I'd give the JB a try before you decide to change it out. It does high power very well.

Or do as I eventually did and stick some Blackouts in.

i like passive pickups, probably stick with the JB if i like it, and the only complaints ive read on it guitar is it has a cheap volume pot, probably would just stick a 1 meg in it and play the shit out of it

JB works great in my SL2H.

Save up your money and get a KE2.

The neck joint on both of those guitars is atrocious. I would get a DK-something or wait until you can afford a neck-through model.

A 1meg pot with a JB will make the pup higher output but will also make it harsher in the highend. I could see doin that in a dark sounding wood like basswood or mahogany. But in alder with a bolt on neck it would just be too bright and harsh.

All I gotta say is talk to the sponsoring dealers on the board first before going the Musicians Friend route.

Im waiting on my first limited run SL2H from Matt's music.
