  • Decent Jackson without FR/trem

I'm looking for, as the title suggests, a decent Jackson minus the floyd rose/trem set-up.

Any advice/suggests/etc would be most helpful and appreciated.

I really enjoy my Dinky DKMGT minus the EMG's (I put passives in mine right away), very nice neck and what I think a good feeling body.

Depends on type of music you play, and sound you're looking for . cant go wrong with a Dominion, amazing guitar for the money, that would be my number one suggestion.

I love my DK2T, but the bridge is a cop out in terms of finish quality. Can't say I have any issues with it mechanically. It plays on par with USAs I've picked up. I find some of the newer ones are better than others, though they are all fantastic ones. I guess not everyone is a USA killer now like the old Pros.

I liked the DKMG a lot as well. Price range? If you've got enough, the SLSMG's even nicer.

SLSMG or DKMGT. They both are great guitars.

I'm also trying to work in something that stays tuned very well when the strings are bent. So far the DKMG(T) looks like a win. To those that own one - does it fit the above criteria?

Another consideration is the RR5. Only 22 frets if you want 24, but it is pretty awesome!

Mine does, I play (or try to) a lot of bluesy type stuff with it and it stays just fine.

                          Same here.

Or if you like a thinner neck, the Dinky HX is a nice choice. Though, only about 100 were made in 1994.

Dinky Body- DKMGT or DK2T (I have a dk2t and it plays great).

                            Rhoads Body- RR5

                            Soloist Body-SLSMG

Anything not mentioned is either too expensive or "too cheap" for what you want.

The dinkies are pretty much the same, just pickup and headstock changes.

I heard some people say that the dkmgt/dk2t play better than the slsmg. Although, I can't claim this to be true (never tried the slsmg)..but I did try the dkmgt twice (and own a dk2t)

Forgot about the MM sig...I tried one and didn't like it. The paint felt cheap (as if it would rub off...powdery feeling).
