  • Jackson RR5FR , RR1 or custom ....

So I'm new to the forum and I'm form Quebec so my english is not that awesome , I'll make my best for you to understand... so Hi ... I play a Jackson RR5 black since 3 years now and I love it to die I own a Dean ML FBD too but I realised that my heart is still to Jackson because I'm one of the biggest Rhoads fan ever even if I'm only 18 years old many of you wouldn't think so but I really knows that I'm a great fan by playing all his song and tried all his guitar and even the Marshall that just comes out ( yeah I tried it really ....really nice ) anyway I was wondering if it would be better to buy a Jackson RR5 with a floyd ( 'cause when I bought the Dean Dimebag it was because the feeling you get with a floyd by bending the strings and all ) or the RR1 who is a USA ( and by the way do the RR1 is smaller ? 'cause it seems smaller when I tried it maybe and illusion ) or I would be better to get a custom PDV ( polka dot V Replica ) by a luthier that I know who's really good ...? so I need advice please ...and sorry for the long post !

Depends on whether you want an ebony or rosewood fretboard and which finish on the body.

I hope your not making your decision on where the Floyd was made? The FRT-02000 is made in Korea (instead of Germany) just to save the company a few-bucks. There on a lot of guitars being sold now, and haven't heard no complaints about them. The one on my RR24 had no problems (with serious abuse!!) and traded that in for a RR5-FR Ivory w/black pinstrips with the same thing. I missed the neck pup, and I like the paint job (with matching headstock) better than the RR1 of the same thing. See what I mean................

If you have the money, grab a RR1, then place a Bill Lawrence 500R / 500XL combo( Dimebag used this pickup before being endorsed by SD).

                  She won't disappoint you!

I'm really liking those new white RR5's, and even without the binding they look hot, one to play and abuse, cause i pussy foot around my RR1

IMO, Unless you've played a on an old floyd from the 80's, early 90's you arent going to notice the difference in the new ones or good liscensed ones, the jackson ones are just fine, and should last a long time and get a lot of use of it.
