  • Help me identify my Jackson, please!

    Hello folks.

I purchased my Jackson in 2001 or 2002 (can't remember) and know that it is a Kelly Performer series.

I am interested in knowing the date and/or value of the guitar. The serial # is 9656188.

    Pictures (not 56k friendly, sorry!):

Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.

well if i'm not mistaken jackson did away with the labels of professional, performer, etc on the headstock in 97 or 98 so check audiozone.dk they have catalog scans which should help you find the exact model. i'd check it all out for you, but what fun would that be. welcome and you have now started the path to j/c enlightenment. im still learnin somethin new almost every day.

edit- see i'm always learnin as rjohnstone said made between 97-01

        It's a PS6T
Jackson started using the etched plates on the imports in the mid 90's.

The "Performer" label and line, was discontinued in 2001.

I'll keep posting here with what I found, but how's this look so far for a comparison?

But there is no way the guitar is that old... why would I have bought a guitar in 2001 from a GC store that was made nearly 10 years prior?

SCRATCH THAT! The best (so far) I have now seen is the 2000 Catalog, which identifies mine as a Jackson Performer PS6T.

The PS6T was made between 1997 and 2001.

Pull the neck off and look for a date on it.
Some had a date stamped on them and some didn't.

Ron (RacerX) is the only one here that kept track of the import serial numbers... maybe he will chime in.

I purchased mine in 2001--I found a picture of a friend playing it dating back to then.

Unfortunately I'm not a guitar hardware guy, so I may have to have someone else do that. I don't trust myself disassembling a guitar
