I really wanted to try it out, as I haven't played one yet and it's my next choice as far as new guitars go.

But I didn't want to have to ask to play it when they have the price so goddamn high, especially as I had no intention whatsoever of buying it from them.
Yeah, in the shop the Demmell was £1,100 and the KV2 was £2,000. Way overprices, and the guys seemingly have no idea what they're doing... The KV2 was set up fairly poorly, needed a string change bad, and had the strings clamped down seemingly as tight as humanly possible. I had no intention of buying from them either, especially there and then, but I think I did them and their guitars a favour

Awesome, I'll check that out, thanks man. The fact it fits a KV2 case leads me to think that EvileMatt is right, and is it cutouts. Either way, I didn't notice it being overly small. For the record I'm 6'1'' an about 16 stone, so I'm definitely not a small guy!

It's the Müller-Lyer illusion which you can read about here...

Interesting, Hellbat, but I think it's maybe just camera angles

So, another quick little story... I go to my local(ish) guitar shop on Saturday to check out some new BC Rich's, specifically to have a look at their new Invisibolt stuff for curiosity's sake, cos they do look kick ass. I played the IT Polar V... for a cheap (£280) Chinese-made guitar, that thing actually SMOKES! Fit and finish and the paintjob are absolute shit, but the neck is a nice shape, it feels solid, and the ebony looks real nice. So while all this is going on I was talking to one of the employees about the Jacksons, and he mentioned that the shop recently inked a deal to become an official Jackson dealer, and was taking their first delivery of Jacksons middle of this week! Long story a little bit shorter, I went yesterday to get a quote (£929 inc. set up), ask some part-ex questions, and I'm going back on Saturday to order my Red Demmelition. Bitchin'! They're all outta stock at the moment, should be available early November, and the KV cases are out of stock til the end of the year , but I've been told Gator make a decent case that it'll fit in. If anyone has a spare KV case or know anyone that does, drop me a PM.

Had a thrash on a straight-outta-the-box Ivory RR5 yesterday, too. Apart from the electronics being absolutely shot to shit, and it looking like a toy on me, I liked it, and it played pretty sweet, especially as it hadn't gone through the in house workshop just yet.

Pr0n of the axe early next month, hopefully!

The Demmelition is a lovely guitar but its no KV2 in my opinion. Better than most guitars, but not the King
USA doesnt mean better, but in this case it does. I know what you mean about the controls but it doesnt really bother me as I rarely turn anything down and I play most stuff on the bridge pup. I have no problem flicking between pups when I have to though.

Meisterjager, I have an RR24 which is basically a Rhoads version of the Demmelition (for want of a better description) same kind of spec and build quality. I dont really play it due to having lots of guitars I play first. Its too good to sit around though. If you're interested, drop me a line.
All men play on 10. Never gonna turn down again.

I'm part exchanging (or most likely gonna eBay) a limited edition Dean Cadillac for the Demmelition. I'm not getting a KV2.

I'd definitely contemplate that dude, but the Rhoads is just too small on me. I'm lucky that I don't seem to look too retarded with the King V's! Screw going through the CS for a double Rhoads, I'm too impatient!

As for the differences between the Demmelition and the KV2, I have a strong feeling the KV2 I tried had been on the shop floor for around 6 months, and you could kinda tell. The main difference between the two axes was the neck, and that was only a very slight difference. KV2 felt faster, but it was nothing massively different.

The main thing is I really, REALLY dug the Demmelition, and I'll be well happy with it! I'm not just getting it cos it's cheaper, I'm getting it cos I genuinely felt like I preferred it. I don't care so much for the prestige of having a USA made guitar. If you rule out European made guitars, Japenese axes are the next best thing quality wise.

I'm gonna go do a search for it now, but what's the story with the FRT 0200 vibrato?

I mentioned that in my first post. The neck's definitely got a bit of girth to it over the KV2, and it's more like what I'm used to playing. To me, it almost felt like a slightly flatter LP neck.

                            I liked it.
