Anyone replace the bridge pickup in your Morton?

I find them muddy in the WR1, which is why I stripped the stock pups in both of mine (didn't get to try them with my Mesa Mark IV--I expect that amp could have fixed the mud, but not all tube amps are capable of cleaning it up). The nickel covered TB-10 is great (went that way over the the JB mainly to stay away from what everyone is known for using, though of course, the same pup sounds different in every guitar with every amp etc...).

Hehehe, I seem to be some kind of authority on Invaders here....
At the end of the day, as all cliches start - it's down to personal preference, and pickup preference is a very varied thing!
Most opinions I've read, and mine too, would suggest the Invader is shit for leads, but great for heavy rythm playing. But Nile use Invader's and seem to have no issues with their soloing - I fucking LOVE Nile, so who am I to say they're wrong?
But I didn't like the Invaders in my guitar when I had them so I won't recommend them.

The Bill Lawrence USA 500XL is, IMO, a fantastic pickup for two reasons - 1, it's about half the price of a DiMarzio or Duncan, and 2 - it sounds fucking sweet. Why spend a fortune on a Dimebucker - a pickup 90% of people seem to dislike who have tried it - when you can spend a small amount on a 500XL which seems to be split 50/50 in terms of people who like it:those who dont.

I've given up asking opinions on pickups, it's a waste of time. Ask for an opinion on how they might sound in your guitar, but try them out yourself and make up your own mind. Chances are, you'll love them all, or at least most of them! A good Duncan or DiMarzio, or Lawrence, is 10 times better than the pups that come stock in most import guitars.
