Fuckkkkk. I want. I still need to refinish my Doug Aldrich. Just kinda cbf atm. But after seeing your pics, maybe I should.. Don't really like the half gold half black bridge. Would prefer it in all black. But I do like the blacked out pickups. Very nice with the body's colour. Okay. I want to paint my Aldrich blue now. The fretboard is rosewood right? With Mother of pearl inlays? Looks fuggin' clean as.

I sold him that guitar, along with a black replacement base plate for the original gold one. The original baseplate was toast, and I just happened to have a spare black one. Personally, I think it looks pretty cool the way it is.

Rosewood fretboard, MOP inlays, mahogany body. Basically, it's a Caparison Horus with a Jackson headstock.

I just sold my Caparison Horus a few months ago. I wouldn't mind a Jackson Falcon to replace it . I've never seen one for sale though. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough? But yeah, I prefer the Jackson's sharkies and headstock to the Caparison's clocks and Devil tail headstock. Played amazingly!

This is my custom built Professional fusion std. Not sure of the exact year.
Before I knew what these guitars really were I found the body and neck separate at the local pawn shop, and I decided to design my own "junk" guitar just for kicks.
I'm not comfortable with single coils or middle position pups so I put in a Super Distortion (going for the hair metal feel). I'm not sure why but I chose to install car tail lights in replace of the single coil slots, I didn't even really know if it was going to work. I play rhythm so no need for a tremolo bridge, had the local luthier set up the tune-o-matic. I later installed graphtech saddles and a gibson tp-6 tailpiece in order to lock the nut and keep it in tune.
I originally wanted to leave it hand sanded, but thought of the broken stone look from ...And Justice for All and Whitesnake. Once the lights were finally finished I wrapped the lens covers with leather, so I then thought that this guitar needed an "organic" theme so I hand crafted the wooden tuners and knobs from walnut. The volume always bugged me so close to the pickup so I replaced it with an amp light and moved it to the bottom, then later added the tone knob in the middle. BTW, I left the tremolo hole through the guitar because I thought it looked neat, I didn't care if it effected the tone.
The lights work with the selector switch, bottom position is off, middle is on, and top is sensitive to my playing; the LEDs pickup whatever the humbucker picks up, so the harder I play the brighter they are, I have a dial installed to control the sensitivity. I can have them light to my exact pick speed matching my gallops. I'm playing this through a Splawn Quickrod, and although I play mostly classic metal you can get anything out of this setup.

And for those who don't, I don't blame you. I can fully understand how a Jackson/Charvel enthusiast might cringe at this pile of random hardware. That was my intention actually. I did feel bad once I learned what this guitar was, but at the same time didn't mind because it was beaten and destroyed when I bought it. The finish was history and all that was left was one ground wire. It was the only strat style body I felt comfortable holding, I'm more of an Explorer and Flying V guy, but I do highly appreciate these guitars and I see nothing wrong with making frankensteins. Look at Eddie Van Halen's, it sounds alright, plays horribly, but is one of the most famous guitars out there and is now being reproduced. It's all about player preference, and mine happens to be far away from the norm.
