              • Quick question: on the Professional Soloists, what is the function of the three knobs?

My Professional Pro Soloist had Reflex pickups and pots were: Volume-Middle Boost-Tone. I removed Reflex pups and installed EMG´s very quickly when I bought it, though.
My Jacksons: RR1 x2, RR Pro, Soloist Pro, RRXMG x2, SDX, JS32RR

                    • Hi people. I originally posted this as a question thread at Ultimate Guitar forum... Perhaps here is a more suitable place for it.

I am the proud owner of this rare '90 baby. It arrived in two pieces, so I had a chance to examine its neck and neck-pocket. I always heard about pro's hi-quality craftmanship, etc., but this small stamp on the neck got me surprised/puzzled. Does it mean it was crafted in USA and then just assembled in Japan? Or it is just "fus" from "fusion"?

Added some other pics of the guitar for the curious out there... the serial number has been verified, is a 6-digit and the guitar was made in 1990. Still has the active circuitry with that "wah" effect, besides of the pickup change.

                      Thanks in advance!

                      • FUS means Fusion. They're the 24.75" short scale, so I'd guess they use that so they don't try to slap it on a Dinky body made for 25.5" scale necks.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

                        • Yes, that's a Japanese made Fusion.

Does it have a 90xxxx or 0xxxxx serial?
                          96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

Makes a lot of sense! Thanks, man.

I don't have it in hands now, but I checked a while ago and it is from 1990. Thanks!

                              • New member, and a new guitar.

Picked this Stealth Pro up for quite a steal. Needed a little work (I put a newish Schaller Bridge on her). Pickup rings for the single coils are purely cosmetic (no extra holes drilled). It plays fantastically. Just wondering if one of you knowledgable sorts can enlighten me, did the Stealth Pro's have quarter-sawn necks? Doesn't say so in the literature but this one definitely has long vertical grains along the whole neck.
