Picked this Stealth Pro up for quite a steal. Needed a little work (I put a newish Schaller Bridge on her). Pickup rings for the single coils are purely cosmetic (no extra holes drilled). It plays fantastically. Just wondering if one of you knowledgable sorts can enlighten me, did the Stealth Pro's have quarter-sawn necks? Doesn't say so in the literature but this one definitely has long vertical grains along the whole neck.

Seems the bolt on '90-'95 Pros used a different number format most/all times.
Actually, that's a 1989 Pro, hence the 9 at the start. All the 1990-95 bolt-on Pros I've owned had the year as the first number with 0 for 90, 1 for 91, etc, just like the neckthroughs.
My Concert V starts with the year (though I can't recall offhand what year - I'll see when I get home).I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

Nah, some, most actually, '90-'95 bolt ons had the full 2 digit date. 90, 91, 92 etc.
Never heard of nor seen a '89 Jackson Professional serial.
Here's a Fusion SS which was only made in '92.

That SS could have had a special serialization, but the plate on my '93 Concert V starts with 3.
Someone around here owns a neckthrough Pro that starts with 8 or 9 IIRC. It's mentioned earlier in this thread, but all the pic links are dead.I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

Agree. I said '...some, most actually, used the full 2 digit...' I expect the 'most actually' part was an overstep.
Plenty of examples of both formats can be found online.
The thread suggests a change in formats around '93. That's something I'll keep an eye on from now on.96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

Makes perfect sense the '90's models could've been made late '89. There's endless examples of models date stamped and serial'd the year previous to their release date.
Seems we're left with theories until something concrete comes along.96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.
