  • Identifying an imported Jackson

I picked up a used Jackson the other day and want to know as much about it as possible so I've been looking around online. I did a bit of searching and apparently there isn't a definitive method for determining an import, or maybe there is by some crafty voodoo knowledge ... who knows ... wading through forums to get an answer sucks. Yeah, yeah, I know it's based on paying dues, common sense and respect. Anyway ... end rant.

    Serial: 9773676
    Dinky Bolt-on neck (Reverse headstock)
Fixed bridge / string through body
    EMG Pickups 85/81
    1 Volume, 1 Tone, 3 Way Selector

From what I've read I'd guess this is a Japanese import made in 1997? If not then I'm just confused and need respectful guidance. In any case, any help is appreciated. Thanks.

    Sounds like a DKMGT.
The serial number is meaningless in regards to year of manufacture.
Since it has the EMG 81/85 combo and not the EMG-HZ, it was made some time on the last year or two.

Crafted with the demands of the discernible player in mind, Jackson guitars give you the shapes, finishes and tones you love. From the venerable Rhoads, Soloist, Warrior and more, shop Jackson for the highest performance.

Thanks Rick. The body cut does look similar so your likely correct.

I see that model is made in Japan the last few years.

Still wish the serial number meant something!
