Just signed up for this forum yesterday. Should have signed years ago since i bought my PS-4 in 99. I am trying to find out when my Jackson was made but i cant find anything online that has a serial number decoder. Does anyone know of one that I could use? Also, incase someone has a site as a fav, the serial number is 9644536.

There is no serial number decoder for dating import Jacksons.

We do have several members who have kept track of the numbers and have a good idea when they were made.
Perhaps one of them will chime in with a date.

The serial does indicate that your guitar was made in Japan, so it is one of the better made PS-4's.

It was new from Guitar Center. I think it was either '98 or '99.

It could have been sitting there for a few years but I think after a while they like to blow them out just to move older stock. My guess would be nothing earlier than a '97 or so . . .
