  • JDR94 Rhoads Concept

Anyone ever owned one of these? What did the 'JDR' stand for? Jackson Dinky Rhoads?

I found a nice project that's complete minus the pickups, and I wanted to do some research on them first.
I believe they were introduced in '94 right?

    Thanks!

    Get it man.

If you are less than 200, you are all set.
Even minus the pickups, since you would have to swap them out anyhow.

Just like a PS-4, that is to say, killer neck, great axe, shitty electronics.

Yeah I have one too, it's a decent guitar. The pickups aren't great (which you don't care about) and the trem's not the best, but the neck's nice and mine has a reverse headstock too - looks cool!
It's not the best guitar ever made, but generally they're very cheap so are well worth the money I'd guess.
I put a Bill Lawrence USA 500XL in mine - the thing rocks!

The concepts were only in 94 in 95 they changed to performer. JDR94 became ps-4.
I thought the Rhoads was JRR for jackson randy rhoads and the JDR was the Jackson dinky reverse.

I only caught it at a glance, but you might be right about it being a JRR94, I prob got it confused with the JDR.
I'm a lefty, so I have no use for it, but I was wondering if it was a decent starting point for a project.

My buddy wants to use a bolt on Rhoads body, and put on an Yngwie Strat neck or a scalloped CBS Strat neck with an H/S pup configuration and a floyd.
Basically he wants a guitar that takes from his fav players' specs and put them into 1 guitar.

I'm sure it's less than $200 cause it needs alot of work but it's all there like I said except for the pups, which prob sucked anyway.
