  • DK2M volume pot

Does anybody know what's the impedence of the stock volume pot that comes with DK2M? I don't have the instrument to measure it and it's all coverd with solder. I think the super 3 I installed in bridge position sounds too dark, so maybe it's a 250k pot?

I'd guess it's a 500. The ones in my RR3, and KE3 were all 500k. In fact, I think every pot in my guitars, apart from the strat, are 500k.

Aren't the Super 3's known for sounding dark? It's the one Phil Collen uses right? I'm sure I read a few reviews on that saying it wasn't great. Maybe it's the tone cap?

BTW What's "Tennent's Scotch Ale"? I've never seen that, despite being a good customer of Tennent's products over the years!

I would guess 500K as well. They're typically used with humbuckers. 250Ks are usually reserved for single-coils.

Yeah I know that most electrics with humbuckers have 500k volume pot but after takin my dk2m in action after a while I noticed that it sounds quite dark compared to my other guitars, not only the super3 that it's a dark sounding humbucker but also the paf pro I have in neck position sounds dark and somewhat muddy with high gain settings...

        @ Martin:

Dude! The Tennent's Scotch Ale is the beer that I use to drink at my local pub. I'm quite surprised you never heard of it! It's a sweet dark amber beer with 9° of alcoholic gradation and a great taste! You have to try it out! Go at the Tennents brewery and ask them where they hide the barrels!
