And don't go by any previous pricing in this thread... Cause it's 5 years old..

And pricing will be very different on a Soloist STD, XL, or a PRO..

Those holy grail Pros such as a KVPro or Rhoads Pro I have seen lately right around (give or take a little) $1000. Soloists, Kellys and Warriors don't seem to hold value as well. I bought my KVPro for $500 used back in 2001 or 2002. Never ever find one at that pricepoint now though....
Transitioning from Retired Musician from cover bands to a Full time vocalist/frontman/guitarist in an original and covers band....it's been a while and this should get NASTY!

Check out the new band at - https://www.facebook.com/PerfectStormMetal/?fref=nf

Yeah, I should've said the Pro's with an ebony fret board. The STD's, XL's etc. have rosewood and would be priced much lower.
        96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

Agreed, but the XL's won't be that far off the Pros. Lower, yeah, and meaningfully so, but still up there in the $5-600 range.

Did these old Pros and XL pros have the compound 12-16" radius as well?
I'm thinking yes but just checking to be sure.
If this is our perdition, will you walk with me?

A neck thru Pro in almost new condition could easily fetch $800+. A motivated buyer may pay a fair amount more, it's really hard to say. Just my opinion and opinions will no doubt vary.
              Thanks folks!

hi guys, please help me identifying my new acquisition.

                - rhoads shape, reads "professional" on the headstock
                - 6-digit serial, starts with a 6
                - simple dot inlays, 22-fret bolt-on neck, rosewood board, maple neck
                - black body & headstock
                - 2 passive humbuckers, single volume, 3-way mini switch
                - jt580 takeuchi bridge

looks like an rr4 so far. now the tricky part: it has chrome hardware all around.

question is: have you already seen any rr4's around with chrome hardware? the only image i could find of a similar guitar is this:

                  I'd suggest posting some pics.
The pic you posted looks like an RX10.
Perhaps an RR4 with a swapped tremolo? It sounds like you have a mutt. Swapped neck?, swapped tremolo?, etc, but without pics I can only guess.

The serial is for 1996 and probably matches the neck, but maybe not the body.
                  96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

here are 2 awful cellphone pics:

it looks exactly like an rr4, it's only the chrome hardware that keeps me thinking. i've taken out the bridge, it is a takeuchi floyd, the same one that i've had on a '96 dr5. i'll also take the neck off to see what's inside the neck pocket.

according to the '96 catalogue (http://support.jacksonguitars.com/ca...96_catalog.pdf), the rr4 was made with two finishes: blk, cbl. mine must be a blk obviously. all features match the catalogue, including knob placement, trem type, number of frets, inlays, whatever you want, but the chrome stuff.

Yeah, the chrome is confusing. Check the stamps and you'll be certain. I expect you'll find stamps on it, but I can't guarantee it.
Let us know what you find out.

so i did: there's nothing in the neck pocket or the neck itself. the pickups are marked m213 & m214, i bet they're original (see catalogue: it reads rr4 had ja213/ja214 pickups). i see no reason to believe this guitar was modded in any ways. even the pots seem to be original and wiring is untouched. i'll treat her as an rr4.

                        thanks for the help!

the rr4 was made with 4 finishes see the () those are the trans finishes. just because it's not what's pictured doesn't mean it didn't come like that. I bet trans finishes had black hardware and the solid colors had chrome. serial number pickups both point to rr4

                            Hi everyone,

I found this thread via google and registered here to ask a question about a Professional Series Jackson a friend of mine wants to sell.
I have no clue about Jacksons so I am in need of an opinion.

From googling I came to the conclusion that this is supposed to be a MIJ 1996 Model from the so called "no series" line, and apparently these still have good trems.
I would be grateful if someone could elaborate and maybe even give advice on pricing.

                            Here are some pictures:

Welcome to the forum. That's a DR3. You can tell by the Gibson-type toggle switch instead of the blade switch.

But, obviously not from the 'no series' series, since it says Professional on the headstock.
