That looks really cool mate. I'd assume the pickups will be pretty crappy, but other than that it'll be a good guitar. Stick a JB/Jazz set in there, or a JB/59 and you'll be set.
I got a KE3 off ebay too recently, but it has chrome hardware. Your black stuff looks better, I'm trying to do mine the same. The finish on yours looks really cool too.

As to the Jazz? I'd love to mate, but I only just got the 475 recently, and got 3 other pickups, so the GAS funds are out for the next couple of months.

Yeah, used Jacksons seem to go for a decent price on ebay at the moment. My KE3 was only £132 IIRC, and that was with a hard case and a set of strings too!
