  • Soloist "Skulls!"

This is obviously a newer model, but what exactly is it?

    http://www.usedvictoria.com/classified-ad/7852367

Checkin' out the catalog scans tells me it's an SL3, but the scans for import models only go as late as 2006.

The one in the link above has got a quartersawn neck and ebony fingerboard. Weren't those features on the more expensive USA soloists?!?!!?

I'm guessing by his asking price that it be an import Jackson.

I'm seriously looking to get this if it's still around after the new year.

Mint pile o' skulls SL1 for $800? I'd be all over that.

Dude just got back to me. It's not a Soloist at all. Not even an SL-3.

It's a DK2. I've got enough bolt on strat style guitars. I won't be getting this after all.
        Too bad.
        Cheers.

Sounds like stock photo bait and switch laziness.

EDIT: I never could tell the DK1 and SL1 apart from the front. Maybe my eyes deceive me, but looks like "Made in USA" on the headstock to me...so not a DK2 in any event.

He told me it's not an actual pic of the guitar in question. It's just a pic he snagged online.

Believe me, if it was an SL1 or DK1, I'd have gone down this Christmas day to snag it!
