  • What size truss rod on RR5

    Hi Guys,
Anybody have a clue as to what size nut is used on the truss rod on a Jackson RR5 made in Japan. Its not the size used on my 1985 soloist or my Les Paul. My 2007 USA Jackson Dinky uses an Allan wrench instead of the nut. I've tried 1/4 too small, and 3/8 which is too big. I'm thinking its metric. One would have thought if they were going to use an odd size, the wrench would come with the guitar.

    Thanks for the help,

    Laars

It's probably 7mm (Or whatever the US equivalent would be?)

I just checked my tool holder and used every US and Metric allen wrench inside to check. It's bigger than a 6mm and smaller than an 8mm.
So it must be a 7.
    I dont have a 7mm to check.

None of the Standard allen wrenches came close.

      Hey Metalchurch79,
Thanks for taking the time to do that. And your correct, it is 7mm. I took a chance and picked up a 7mm socket after reading your post. Perfect fit! You would think they would have included it with the guitar.

      Thanks again,
