Read the whole thread. 97 dx2 neck would have binding and say professional on the headstock.

Actually, the DX2 neck has dots, no binding and a matching headstock.
That's why I originally thought it had a DX1 neck, but I screwed up on the DX1 neck specs. It was early in the AM for me.
The DX1 has the sharkies with binding and a black headstock.
Both had "Professional" printed on the headstock.
This may have further confused the issue.

Regardless, it's still a great looking guitar.

An ATX is an archtop.
Like this... Very similar, but the guitar pictured above does not have an arched top.

with the flash washing out the top of the guitar, I couldn't be sure if the top was arched or not. The shape of the bevel differs enough for me to assume it was.

even in this pic, it's not so easy to tell if the top is arched. The reflection towards the bout suggests it, but compare this pic to the guitar in the question, which is completed washed out by flash.

look at the quilt in this pic. It appears to be angling away from the centre line of the guitar. It didn't appear to in the first pic, so it may further support this being an ATX. Plus you can see the bevel is more open towards the neck than it would be on a regular Dinky.
