I'm looking to buy a Jackson hardtail. I can't really afford any of the more expensive Jackson hardtails so I'm looking at the JS30DKT. I'm confused though because some of the photos I've seen of this guitar show it with a locking nut? What's up with that?
I don't see how you'd lock it down without pushing the strings sharp, but the idea of the locking nut is kind of cool in the sense that could leave it unlocked and you wouldn't have to worry about replacing the nut when it wears out since it's metal. Plus I had a JS20 and the plastic nut on it was total crap. I ended up putting a Graphtech on it.
But anyway, why do some of the JS30DKT's show a locking nut?
