Just purchased 1990 MIJ Rhoads Professional

Just reviving this thread cos im curious as to why some of the Jacksons from that "Pro" era have the gold plated hardware on them and others dont (ie bridge,locking nuts,tuners etc), or was it just certain production runs or options at the time ??

Ummm.....because someone replaced the black hardware with gold?
