RR3 project guitar (full on modding)

I got a RR3 from a forum member, needed a little work - so naturally since it was a good deal, I said 'now I can spend more and make it green'.

The first step was a proper teardown.

I tried to strip it down to the wood for green staining, however after a few fruitless days of playing with strippers - I decided to just spray it. Since spraying it will be less cool, I'm thinking of doing an original bomber type graphic. I'm putting this off for a few more days as I've just had a bout of pneumonia.

So far I've picked up a set of seymour duncan SH6n & b, chrome pick-up rings, a custom neckplate and a custom truss rod cover.

I'll update as progress moves forward....

The red finish was nice IMO, I think you may have just ruined a nice finish! It might have been simpler and more aesthetically pleasing just to change out the hardware, and add some of Budman's parts to make it more individual.
But you clearly have a plan for this, so I'll be really interested to see how it progresses. Good luck with it!

Didn't you post a "Goodbye, I'm leaving" thread not long ago?

yes I did post a goodbye thread, I was in a bad place at a bad time - I apologized in the platinum section where I acted with the most stupid shit. Open apology in the 'free area' as well. We will now consider this closed with an expectancy of reasonably sober posting on my account.

      Nuff said.

      Did you see the RR3?

Any pics of what it looks like after you tried stripping it?
Don't forget the corn. It's nutritious, delicious, and ribbed for her pleasure.

Just wondered, I hadn't seen any reason for you leaving.

Yeah I saw the RR3, I posted about it up above!
I'm interested to see how you do with it, but I liked the finish it already had!

Stripping it was a total failure for me, and I also sucked ass at stripping a guitar. So this lovely shade of red is green enough for me. I decided to focus more on the stuff I'm more comfortable with. Please anyone who's more in the know, make helpful suggestions(I'm just a hobbyist).

So now I'll throw out some progress pics!

            Made you look!
