Yeah I'd rather it was a non-trem but this was a good deal so just had to block it. Can always unblock later.

Yes it is blocked pretty low, but I did that to get the action lower. Usually I don't need to go so low. I'm no expert on setups, but can eventually get them to a pretty playable state.

Well, as long as it intonates, I guess you're ok.
Generally, I try to keep it level, just so the strings come off the saddles where they are designed to.
Once level, you can just lower the two pivot studs down to where you dig it.
