Is an SL1 seriously that much better than an SL3? In the UK it's not so easy to get USA Jacksons unless you have loads of money. Which I don't.
So my SL3 is the best guitar I've ever played. I don't really see how ANYTHING else could be that much more playable or better sounding but I haven't the experience to decide myself.
that's not an sl1 its a early 90's pro nice guitars that's a alright price for it
and having owned two of these guitars a white dinky pro and an sl pro they are certainly better than a sl3 or 4
Thats not a SL1. It's a MIJ Soloist Pro... nice guitar and better than a SL3 according to most opinions.
????? All my research says it is an import SL1 according to the S/N??? At least from the sites I have seen. But that is why I am here........ to learn.
So, Is there a 1990 import SL1 that is a different guitar?
Thanks
G
Well it appears that this is indeed a Soloist Pro. Now, should I raise hell with the seller as it states the guitar is an SL1? Are we talking about the same guitar with a different name? Was there an SL1 import from Japan in 1990? Looks like a shit hot axe from the pics, but I do not want to pay more than it is worth.
Thanks

the import professional "PROS" from 90-95 are just as good as a usa soloist. that's a great deal for one of those. He did say professional in the title so those were only imports so I wouldn't give him a hard time.

I have a Soloist Pro in that exact color, and that's only a few dollars more than I paid for mine a couple years ago, so I wouldn't sweat the "SL1" thing. The various model designations given to Soloists over the years can be confusing, and this seller did state that it's a Pro series guitar and gives at least some indication that it's not U.S.-made.
My yellow Pro, by the way, is the best Soloist I've ever owned, and that includes several USA-made ones. Hope yours is that good, too.
Thanks guys! I knew it was an import before I made the move, just was not clear on whole naming convention. It appears that this is the equivalent of the USA SL1 from that period of time.
