  • [pics] Brand New Kelly PS6-T!

Hey Everyone, I just signed up. I just thought I would share a pic of my Kelly. I bought this guitar brand new in 1998 to be used as a spare. As soon as I bought it, I had the bridge pickup changed to a Duncan JB, and I never ended up using the guitar, ever. I even have the pics and strap in the case from when I brought it with me to a show just in case I needed it.

It's been in the case ever since, and while going through my closet I pulled it out and snapped a quick pic. I did check the setup on it and it still seems perfect, amazingly. Cool looking guitar, I almost forgot I had it!

Er...why did you join the forum?

Seems like a total and utter waste of a guitar. And your money. Of which you must have plenty.

People may get busy sometimes and not get to play their instruments.

That's a sweet axe! The grain on the board is fucking killer!

Look, I'll gladly take it off your hands, and store in my closet!
Its all fun and games till you get yogurt in your eye.; -AK47

The reason I've had it so long and never played it is because I've always been a Les Paul player, and this guitar was actually a backup to one of my Les Pauls. A few months back I bought a DK2M as an everyday jam guitar and I liked it so much that I became interested in my old Kelly again. I have a KE1 at my house in NY that I used much more because it had a fixed bridge and at the time I really had no use for a floyd bridge. In any event, my DK2M has really shifted my interest to Jackson again and I want to order a USA model for sure.

As strange as that sounds, I've got some guitars that don't see much play time 11 years is a tad long(my records about 5).

Welcome to the board!!! Kellys are great guitars

Had one just like it, with emg in the bridge.

I guess I've been playing Les Pauls so long I never really got into other guitars, but I'm really surprised at how good my DK2M sounds. Heck, I dare say it sounds better than most of my Les Pauls. Even the LFR stays in tune, rock solid. Very cool guitar!

One question though, the body on my PS-6T seems larger than my KE1 - am I imagining this?

no it's not you're imagination. ke1 is slightly smaller then ke2 and I believe the ke3 is slightly larger, and then the king kelly being even larger.

If I'm wrong someone will be along directly to correct me, there are lots of members here who are into "screw counting" and generally are much smarter at these types of questions then I am.

The KE1, KE2 and KE3 should be the same size (the smaller size Marty Friedman wanted). Unless for some strange reason they had some discrepancies.
There was a medium size a long time ago, and the original King Kelly is the largest.
