i've had this guitar for yrs, never bothered to find out anything about till now so just a little help finding out the year it was made, its a jackson professional dinky xl heres the serial # 402190 it still has the made in japan sticker on the back thanks.

94. The first digit of your serial number is the year fot these. Being a xl narrows it down to only a few years also. Great guitars. Real MOP inlays and schaller trem. -
I don't think the XL had real mop. That was one of the cuts they made along with changing the ebony board to rosewood. Not sure of the year they dropped the MOP, though.I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

My 93 xl had MOP and my 96 has MOP. MOP was supposedly stopped in 95.I don't think the XL had real mop. That was one of the cuts they made along with changing the ebony board to rosewood. Not sure of the year they dropped the MOP, though.
I actually did a thread and put up the pictures of those 2 and my model 6. The MOP was not as good in these as the charvel model series though.
