  • Ummm... What?

Today at g/c i saw something odd... (didnt h ave anything to take pics with ) I saw what looked like an rr3, everything was the same although now looking back the pickups may have been duncan designed, but it had red bevels and a red logo, and i know its NOT a rr24. It was bolt on with un unfinished neck and the same rr3 floyd, and it wasn't after market, it was new, and i dont remember the cost... i also got to try a used RR1 with emgs, god like
I hooked up my accelerator pedal in my car to my brake lights. I hit the gas, people behind me stop, and I'm gone.

You're right, it does have an un unfinished neck! All the imports have finished necks... a matte satin clear coat. Only the USA models will have unfinished/oiled necks.

Yeah I was a little shocked when I saw it at my GC but after some research I found out it's just the new JS model. I should have known that right when i plugged it in

I am thinking you said that wrong, USA's have the finished painted necks, and imports are unpainted(which i mean't instead of unfinished) and if I'm not mistaken the rr24 is an import (i hope?:think and its a painted neck, same with the rr5...

Oh well i didn't see that under new products on MF.som, but maybe its just a new color... Shit! That is pretty legit looking for a js! Oh yes now i remember, it had Jackson CVRs and a licensed floyd. But that thing looked sick!

You're misunderstanding me. I'm not talking about paint. Any import with a bolt-on neck has a matte satin clear finish, even if it's unpainted and looks raw (except for the Christian Olde Wolbers model which has a painted neck). If we're talking about USA bolt-ons, the necks are oiled which means just a light oil finish and otherwise pretty much raw. The USA neck-thrus can either be painted or oiled.

Oh i realized that after i said it, but im saying now that i am talking about paint. What i was telling everyone is that it is an UN-PAINTED neck, so people don't think I am getting it mixed up with an RR24. Little did I know there was already a thread. Anybody know when one of these will acutally show up as an option?

They're a Jackson mystery, maybe one of the members here who's affiliated with Jackson could shed some light on it? Seemed pretty high end for a JS, the inlays look better than those on even the highest Epis and it plays better than the DK2 in my local GC.

Ok, I did not find the js rhoads, but I did find this however. Which appears to be the same idea.
Jackson JS30KE Kelly Electric Guitar (with Gig Bag). Alder body, bolt-on maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, Jackson humbuckers.

No trem on that one but yeah from the same JS series. Sharkies though, perhaps there's gonna be a slight upgrade for the JS line? It seems like every model line has moved up-the XX10 series has moved up to Duncan Designed like the old XX3 series had, but now they have real Duncans. Guess the JS series is gonna move up to XX10 series quality.

Then what will happen to the X-series? You think they will do away with it?

It moved up to the quality of the old XX3. I didn't mean they will do away with anything, I meant that import quality is going up. Or seems to be.

I know, I understand, but I am saying, if the JS and the X-Series become basically the same, but at different prices, it would make sense to get rid of one.
