I'd normally say a JB myself, but I did a quick comparison of some pickups last night and the Duncan Distortion turned out best, so I'd say go for that.

Here's the link if you're interested, it's "Symphony of Destruction", done with, first the JB, then a Duncan Alnico 2 Pro, then the Duncan Distortion. 3 different guitars, but it'll give some idea of how they sound.

Yes you did, just saw the post in Efraid of Ebay. Congrats, looks pretty clean. As far as pickups, I have Blackouts in my Kelly pro, and I'm not sure I like them. I was going to swap EMG's from another guitar into it and compare. It had an Evo and PAF Joe when I bought it, and didn't care for those at all.

I recently got a set of seymour sh6(n/b) and installed them in an rr3 - they sound incredible!Much hotter output than sh2 or tb4, I'd been on an active kick for a while and If you want to go that route emgs are pretty popular (81/85 is a normal combo), however a lot of people are really liking the blackouts too!

It all comes down to personal taste and style, so in short - you may want to experiment with different pup's!

Thanks man! The JB is my favourite pickup, but in that test it was the worst. The A2P let the backing track breathe, while the Distortion was tight and closest to the original song. The JB sounded too loose.

yes i got if off ebay, and im so excited im itchin to order pups before the brown truck can even drop it off

i like my evo in my alder dinky, i think thats what an evo is best in, just dont know if it would be the same in poplar

i like dimarzio's, thinking d-activators, or maybe old school with a tone zone and 59 combo

or AHB-2 duncan blackouts, or emgs.... i dunno
