  • fatter necked Jacksons

Hello everyone. What are some of the thicker necked Jacskons made? It looks like their current line-up are all pretty much the trademark thinner necks. I have a SDK 2 and love the thicker feel of this neck. Are there any other models similar to this that I can look for used? Thanks.

The old Firebird FB2 and FB2T have thicker necks. http://audiozone.dk/cm/displayimage.php?album=54&pos=18

The MM1 Mark Morton Dominion model also has a thicker neck.

Thanks for the replies all (well... except for the Don Johnson pic). I'll search around for the above mentioned.

              Yeah, them Firebirds look nice.

The Morton looks very promising. I was looking at the spec sheets and it does seem to have the thickest neck in their line-up (.901" @ 3rd fret. Most others are in the .725" range). I thought the Adrian Smith might have a thicker neck but it doesn't seem to... The PC1 came in next at .825" @ 3rd fret (unfortunately, too much $$$ for my wallet).

My COW DK6 has a very fat, round neck. Feels comfy though.
It seems to be quite alone with that, as all other COWs I've tried had a thinner neck and felt different.
However the neck feels identical to that of a MM1 Dominion I played once....

The Morton is great; very comfortable neck, very comfortable to play standing and sitting.

correct me if im wrong but most Jacksons are notorious for having a pretty thick neck i thought.... my DKMGT has what seems to be a Louisville slugger type thickness to it compared to most other guitars ive played/play.
