  • Why no "Professional" on headstock any more?

On the supposed higher end imports, like the RR3, KE3, SL3 etc why don't they put "Jackson Professional" on the headstock any more?
Am I the only one that thinks it looks way better?
I have a JDR-94 and "Jackson Concept" on the headstock just looks much cooler than the plain Jackson on all my other imports.

I don't understand why they don't put it on the headstock any more. Surely Jackson should want to make their guitars look as desirable as possible?

Probably because it's a cost-savings measure - fewer decals to print, less ink to use, etc.

Although it could be to pile on the confusion spread by unscrupulous or uninformed sellers who may use the lack of any extra logo marks to con people into thinking it's an old San Dimas era USA model that didn't get the Made In USA logo, as was pretty common.

Jackson has never done enough to adequately state on their guitars exactly where a given instrument was made, so we ended up having to deal with people who thought the Model series Charvels were made in Ft Worth Texas, as well as the aforementioned "imports made in the USA" issue.
Stickers that say made in Japan/India are easily removed. These marks need to be on the neckplate, along with the year they were made. Gibson and Fender provide documentation to decipher their serialization spec, and for the most part they keep the same formatting for their imports, but all Jackson has ever done officially is the USA models.

It took usergroups like the JCF to nail down the import serials, and that was only possible by spending money on these models. While Jackson has obviously reaped the benefits from this, it would not have resulted in anyone's death for someone at Jackson to call up the import factories and request a serial number log, and then to have someone condense that info for publication.
I mean, surely this information is available internally? I would like to know how it's a threat to the business if it was released.
