  • Kevin Bonds RR good deal?

Ok, theres a guy I know that is selling his kevin bond rr with the green bevels and a duncan distortion in it but he lets the iommi pickup with it.I dont think he has a case for it but ill get one anyway.Right now I have a jackson kv2 wich I love beyond every guitar ive ever played and I was wondering if the bond rr would be comparable at all on playability and sound.Hes selling it for 600$ can and im sure I could drop it a little lower.good deal or not? its in good condition by the way.

    heres a pic

600 is a good deal if it is nice, as you said. I'd hit it if I were on the matket for one.

Love the look of the green bevels, and 600 seems to be a good deal.
Never played a KV2, but the Bond plays well in my opinion, but it sounds darker than other RR models (at least with the Iommi Pickup).

It's also made out of mahogany, so it should sound darker/warmer.

its a great playing guitar and for $600 is a good price if its in good shape , but keep in mind it doesn't sound or feel anything like a king V,

I had the guy drop it at 550$ ill go try it out this week so is it supposed to sound darker than my kv-2? more bass or mids?and ive read that it has a pretty thick neck, if it is that thick I might have it sanded down and leave it to natural color(just an idea)as the neck is supposed to be 3piece if im right, this may look really nice!

its not a thick neck , but it is slightly thicker than the KV2's speed neck . Its a different feel, try it out , my RR's are pretty bright sounding , but i have the stock pickup in mine.

$550 seems like a good score. (Thats around $500US at todays exchange rates.)

Aren't they factory set up for heavy gauge strings and drop b tuning too or am I mixing it up with the Demmel?

The demmel comes factory with 11-56 at drop B , the bond RR is strung with 9's at A440

Kevin has said it's based off of a neck on one of his favorite Gibsons, so it's probably similar to their slim-taper profile I'd guess.

That looks really cool, except for the inlays. They look kinda cheap or something. The black/green colour scheme is pretty awesome though.

Go for it- you'll never see one like it for that price.

I found one for 550 earlier in the year. I kick myself for not grabbing it. That price is very hard to come by. I'd grab it if I were you.

There we are guys! i just bought the guitar 550$ and I couldnt be happier!a really great guitar all the way around and surprisingly similar quality as my kv-2 and I think those 2 will make a really good duet!I was concerned that the neck would be thick and comparable to a morton or maybe a les paul from what ive heard on few review but, seriously this neck is really similar if not a little smaller than the speed neck on my kv2 I think its a little more comfortable anyways.the big and only con on this guitar are the inlays wich are nice to see but closely they are horrible, they feel like a rubber pellicule on the fretboard, i can live with it but even some cheap inlay material would of made the job...SO NOW...PICTURES!

funny thing, its the 3rd guitar im buying from the same guy hes a great seller!
