I saw Tull back in '95 and until then I didn't realize how good Barre is. I seem to remember him having some amp problems... but it was 14 years ago and I've been to dozens of concerts since... so I could be wrong...

Yep, he's a hell of a player. Even my wife, who doesn't like Tull, or guitar playing in general other than Bryan Adams type stuff, was totally blown away by Barre when I took her to see Tull last year. "That wee old guy on guitar looked like he was going to have a heart attack at any minute but he was amazing" or something like that was her take on Martin.
Ian's an amazing guitar player too, check out Salamander, Martin even said he had real problems trying to get to grips with what Ian did with it.

Is the Fender guitar that is now (or at the time I posted this) in your first post yours? I like that chrome System II fender bridge. I have an 80's Japanese fender with one of those in black, but would love a chrome one.

He's obsessed with JTX's... eorse addictions to be had for sure. I'd like to try one, but I'm afraid the neck would be too thin... some of the really thin Ibanez necks make my frethand wrist cramp horribly.
