That said, I'm not sure if your DK2 neck is as thick as the one I had, or if any DK2M neck you got would be as slim as mine.
I don't think it'd be worth swapping it either way though, you would be better off just getting a DK2M if that's the look you want. They come loaded with real Duncans and black hardware too!
Which Duncans? The JB/Jazz? I really like the SSH config I have in my DK2 w/ dimarzios. But, I definitely want to get a real JB in the future. I am really adamant about keeping the body and changing the neck to the maple b/c of the SSH config. The DK2M has two hums and I'm saving the H/H config for the ibanez. Plus, the ibanez has the color matching headstock and it would probably be a pain in the ass to try to find that same neck with a maple fretboard. Hope that makes sense. I really enjoy working on my guitars and evolving them into something better over time. Even if the guitar is only 10% original when i'm done with it, it'll still be better and more tailored to my liking. Plus I resale of the left over parts and I make most of my money back in the process. I'm still unsure of the neck though. I'm gonna have to go to guitar center and play the DK2M just to get a feel and see if I really would want to invest in the new neck. Thanks martinbarre1.

Yeah JB/Jazz. I'm with you on the HSS thing, I prefer that setup too, my SL3 is like that and it's very versatile. Looks cooler than HH to me too.

If you DO decide to swap the neck, there's guys on here who always need a good DK2 neck.

        Yeah, DK2 necks are popular.

Mine is the most unusual fretboard I've seen. It looks bright rose-red, almost plastic-looking (I know that's not going to sound good but it's the easiest way to describe it). Goes good with the purple body.

Is it some type of exotic rosewood? I highly doubt it but it's possible. Did you buy it like that? I wonder if some kind of conditioner or cleaner could have possibly "bleached" the wood. I guy I used to know used some regular household cleaner on his guitar (idiot) and it did weird things like that.

And it's a lot of BS, spread by eBay sellers who want to squeeze that last bit of dollar out of their old beaters.

Damn that get's to the point! I have to agree with you warlock. I honestly don't think Fender is downgrading the Jackson brand. If anything I think they've upgraded some models. I just think most of the Jackson loyalists dislike the idea that it's not it's own brand in a sense, which in fact it is it's own brand just Fender is now making some decisions and making profit from it. I think since it's under the Fender umbrella, I bet some people assume that it's going to lose quality and be downgraded to the likes of squier which thats not the case.

+1. Anyone here a long time knows that if anything, the quality got better with Fender. My 2005 Bengal SL2H s a fantastic piece of work, and keeps up easily with the Les Pauls.

I'm not sure what it is, but the guitar was new when I bought it from ebay from a mass vendor. Plastic still on tuners and truss rod cover, etc.

I think it's just some strange piece of wood. I just wish the neck was thinner, it's about a Gibson 50s profile. By 50s, I mean Gibson USA 50s, not Gibson Historic 50s baseball bat. Same size as my 1998 SG Std.
