    I'd rather get a used DK2 than a new DX10D.

Man the Jackson LFR is better than a lot of older OFR's out there?
      $200 w/HSC at GC used!!!

But swaping to some SD distortions are not out of line here?

One of the big selling points for me is the natural body finish. If I could find a DK2 with that finish (or one of those GC anniversary editions), I'd do that.

This actually started with me wanting a DK1 with a natural finish, but $2k is just a bit much. So, I figured I'd get one of these, swap out parts at my leasure (or when I have cash ) and do it that way. Not a USA DK1 by any means, but customizable. And, I have some parts now.

Hardly. Personally, I'd almost take any old OFR over a JT580LP any day.

            Do I have a DX10D?

            I sure feckin' do!

Sorry for the shitty picture, I guess I could have done a better job, but its not like any of you really care anyway, heh heh. Dont mind any of the cheesier books, either. They aint mine.

And yes, I can give you positive feedback about these guitars. Actually, you'll get pretty much nothing BUT positive feedback about these guitars from me. Ive never really had a problem with it, except for maybe the volume/tone pots, like someone else mentioned earlier in the thread.

This ones a Japanese-made DX10D (were they Basswood or Alder?) with an Air Zone in the neck position, and, you guessed it, the Duncan Designed pickup in the bridge.

Eww, I know. Get over it, heh heh.

I actually dont mind it, but I had a chance to buy the Air Zone and a Steve Morse model bridge pickup on the cheap, so I thought id check it out. I have yet to try out the new bridge pickup, but im liking the Air Zone... kind of. Actually thought of changing it back for a while there, but I think its just because ive gotten so used to how it used to sound over the years.

This is my only guitar so far, and I love every scratch, ding, and sweat-stain that its acquired throughout our history together. Ill be playing this fuggin thing till I hit the grave.

The Lo-Pro Licensed Floyd has treated me very well over the past 4.5 years, but I think if I came along a cheap OFR, id throw it in. Its supposed to be a drop-in replacement, if I remember correctly. Not taking into account the new setup it would require, of course.

Im also a reversed headstock guy for life now, because of this guitar. So much more appealing than the "flacid point" that the regular Jackson's sport. Tee-Hee.

The only thing id change, if I could, besides the pickup rings, would be the inlays. Possibly just delete them altogether, as side dots seem to work just fine on their own for me. Oh, and id change the 3way Blade-Style switch to a Toggle switch.

I love this guitar. I think another like it would serve you just fine indeed for your office.

Make no mistake, this guitar is my life.

I forgot about them coming out in a natural finish. I was looking at one of these a while back too. quilt or flame natural is one of my three favorite finishs( I don't have any in natural).

Actually, the natural finish was last year. This year's model has no natural. I'm having to have one ordered.

That's a cool post. I love to read about people getting so much enjoyment out their guitars, especially when, like mine too, they never cost as much as the top of the range type ones.

Doh! Jackson's site didn't list it as an option. That's good to know!

i had one awhile ago. its was a nice guitar. thin neck. wish it had binding, but for the price its cool. i hate the chrome hardware, but thats just me. put some real pickups in it. take some time setting it up properly and its a great player.
