is this a 2001 or 2002 SL3

i have a SL3 i bought at a pawn shop this year and they said it was a SL1 but that was wrong after much reseach and i found out it was an SL3. i just want to know if its a 2001 or 2002 SL3

I think the serial number is the only way you can tell, because even if there were differences in the two years, such as hardware color, people often change that anyways, I know I do.
Also, how sure are you that it IS either an 01 or 02? As opposed to like an 04 or something?

The neck-through Jacksons are easilly dated by the serial. This serial starts with "01". It could mean either "1991" or "2001", but there were no SL3s in 1991.

How do you read Jackson serial Numbers? I cracked the code and figured out my explorer was the 345th stamped on October 17th 2005.

the 01 is 2001 and 91 should be 1991

Uh-oh. My mind went into loops there, didn't it?
I was wrong - my bad.
This is how it should be:

leading 0 = 1990 or 2000.
leading 1 = 1991 or 2001.
leading 2 = 1992 or 2002.

However, I'm not even sure the SL3 was out in 2000. :think:

it wasnt jackson started making SL3 in 2001 i looked one the jackson website saw it was in the 2001 cat but not 2000 cat
